Throughout the course this year, I am going to be researching how to better help children’s stress levels through activity. I will also be looking into community specific programs to get a better understanding of the entire process of getting children involved in sports at an early age. And finally, how sports/activities impact mental health and sharing my own personal stories relating to this topic.
I believe movement in any form, regardless of age, gender, and body type, is essential in maintaining mental well-being. As an educator, if we can encourage and implement a quick, effective way to get rid of stress for students, it will not only mentally and physically benefit them, but also make school and learning more enjoyable.
Here is a link to a short introductory video on some of the positive effects sports have on children. I added this video as it fully relates to my chosen topic and introduces it in a fun, educational, cartoon way.
